With the same thought, the PM of India, Mr. Narendra Modi in 2015 declared 21st June as the World Yoga day. Mentioning 5 Steps to a Healthy Life.

Why 21st June as this is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere (while being the shortest in the southern hemisphere). This makes it a day with special significance from the perspective of yoga.
As Yoga day is around the corner, let us look at some easy to replace or adopt habits that can help us lead a healthy, happy, and disease-free life. A peaceful life is quite a rare feeling nowadays.
Here are 5 easy-to-do habits to lead a healthy life:
1. Avoid Gym, opt for Yoga:
Yoga comes with way too many benefits, not just physically but also mentally. Controlling our mind, body, and soul can sometimes become difficult, but not when you’re practicing Yoga. Yoga can be practiced anywhere and anytime, a few minutes a day can bring about physical and mental disciplines leading to a peaceful life. Today’s time is all about anxiety and stress. Yoga helps us combat the same.
2. Avoid cabs, take a walk:
Time is money in all sense, so much so that we have forgotten to do any physical activity. We are stuck to our systems and chairs the whole time. We are always pressed for time, that even for a 500-meter distance we would opt for a rickshaw or Cab, but won’t think about walking it out. Daily walking for short distances or climbing up and down stairs can help us in so many ways. Why not try?
3. Replace cold drinks with natural drinks:
Sugarcane juice and coconut water have several nutrient values, antioxidant properties. It fights against diabetes, prevents kidney stone, and support good health. Still, when we look for options to drink we always opt for soda-based artificial preservative drinks that does no good, but only harm us in ways we don’t even know. When you are thirsty next time, opt for water or natural drinks. Small change, big on benefits, isn’t it?
4. Stay close to nature, plant more trees:
You can’t control the deforestation that happens due to modernization and industrialization. But you can control the greenery around you. Plant trees indulge in organic farming, go on vacation near-natural terrains are some of the ways in which we can stay close to nature. As being close to one helps reduce hypertension, respiratory disorders, and cardiovascular illnesses leading to mental wellness.
5. Don’t be negative, start thinking positive:
We are constantly living in a society where people are nagging most of the time, we say more negative things than positive. We are constantly thinking about the odds leading to stress. Every other person is a pessimist when it comes to politics, work, growth, relations and the list is non-ending. Thinking positive opens the possibilities we hadn’t thought of. It makes us calm, happy people with enhanced health and longevity. Being positive is not just a good way to live, but it’s the only way to live.
