Visiting the Boston Butt was definitely special as its India’s first Smokery, Charcuterie Bar Cafe. And the same can be seen right from the moment you stepped in. They are influenced by American Smokeries particularly from Texas, Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, definitely from the best of the world.
The Boston Butt is located right next to the Rhythm house at Kala Ghoda about 800 meters away from Churchgate station. The place has two storey seating; the lower level is more about fine dining, while the level above is the pub, a hub for drinks, dance and party.
The place has dominant wooden furnishing, quirky paintings and wall décor with attractive hanging lamps. The chef, and restaurateur Siddharth Kashyap along with his partners Karna Shinde and Nishant Rao has truly given a heart and soul to the place.
We had gone for a Sunday brunch, so had tried their brunch special menu and started with: Masala Daddy: The cranberry based mocktail had coriander, cumin, rimmed with chat masala. It was sweet and refreshing.
Yellowstone: Orange juice having a distinct ginger taste, best to cut the taste of different dishes having together.
In appetizers, we tried, Bloom Bread, my favorite from the brunch for sure. The bread tomb was filled with yellow cheddar, and cut into small square pieces having burnt garlic taste, highly recommended, tastes good throughout the meal.
Philly cheese steak thin crust pizza: Literally thin, the Pizza had a layer of Yellow Cheddar, and then topped with perfectly cooked beef. It’s delicious with flavorful with each bite, must try!
From the raw bar section, we tried one of the best Salad having smoked chicken, beetroot, walnut, cucumber, perfectly tossed in honey-tahini aioli. Even if you’re not a salad fan, you’ll like this one for sure.
In small plates, we had; Smoked BBQ potato skin: The smoked skinned potato was topped with yellow cheddar, caramelized onion. It’s best to have while it’s hot; else it tastes a little oily.
From large plates we had, Snapper which was done in creamy clam juice sauce, served with butter parsley rice.
Finally the most important part of the meal, the desserts, we tried their best selling Double Chocolate chip skillet cookie, which is pan made topped with 3 different ice cream flavours to tantalize your taste buds; Salted caramel for the salty taste, Burnt Orange for a sweet-tangy taste and vanilla for the sweetness. The dessert is a balance of flavours and is enough for 2-3 people.
The Boston butt definitely has a lot to offer to everyone’s palate.
