10 Best K-Dramas that are hard to miss!

After the OTT advent, the way we consume content and the quantity of consumption have all changed and how.
There is a lot of content to consume for anyone.
But lately, there is a problem that most of us are facing.
There always seems like a dearth of good Hindi shows/movies.
For a Bollywood junkie like me, I am tired of waiting for new content to turn up every now and then. Of course, I know that it is not possible for new shows and movies to be made every week to our whims and fancies.
But kya kare, Yeh dil maange more!

This hole of finding good shows and movies has opened doors for us viewers to check out international shows. Since the lockdown, most of us have begun exploring content from other countries whether it is Turkish, American, Pakistani, and now Korean shows.

Recently, my new favorite has been binging on Korean shows. Also, for the fact that Korean shows are usually 16-24 episodes only. So, it’s short yet impactful.
After consuming Korean shows for years, I thought of saving you guys the time spent on finding good content by sharing my handpicked Korean drama list – 10 K-Dramas that should be a part of your watch list.

This Korean drama list captures the best of K-drama to start Binge-watching:

This K-drama is a law drama where the protagonist Woo Young Woo is a young lawyer with Asperger’s syndrome. Even though she is a genius with a high IQ, an impressive picture memory, and can come up with solutions like no other, yet she struggles with acceptance, of being a good lawyer, while finding her true identity, relations, and love in the midst of all.

This show is about 2 people who are poles apart. The female protagonist is a smart attorney who knows how to fight. She saves anyone from unjust not just by law, but also through her punches. And the hero is an A-list Actor who is a successful romantic hero but distrusts women and stays far away from them as possible.

What would happen when these 2 are forced to date each other? This is a lovely light-hearted show to watch.

3. Abyss:

There is a magical marble called Abyss which can be used to revive the dead. This romantic K-drama of 2019 is about the story of Cha Min and Go Se-Yeon who are given a second chance at life. They came back in bodies they don’t recognize and are looking different. This is a story of unveiling mystery and murder suspense, while characters unfold and romance surfaces.

4. Dr. Romantic

This hospital K-Drama so far has 2 seasons, and the third is in releasing in April 2023 as per the news. The show is based on a small-secluded hospital called Dol Dam Hospital on the outskirts of Seoul, which is run by the chief Surgeon Doctor Kim who is supposed to be brilliant and exceptional. The show has hospital politics, a love story, medical cases, and many friendships sailing through its course that you would be forced to keep binge-watching till the end.

5. Vincenzo

This law with Mafia theme-based K-Drama launched in 2021, where the descendants of Sun’s famed Song Joong-ki are in the lead. Here the Korean-Italian mafia lawyer comes back to his motherland Korea where is gets dragged into a case. His style of solving the same in mafia-style when he encounters a big conglomerate and how he makes them taste their own style makes this an absolute must-watch

6. I am not a Robot

I am not a Robot

Min Kyu a famous businessman suffers from a rare condition that limits his contact with other human beings. However, his life changes when he commissions an engineer to build a personal robot. Instead, Ji Ah acts as the robot. What happens next, and how each of their lives gets impacted is a great show to watch and know.

7. Hospital Ship

This Korean drama list mentions another great K-Drama. Hospital Ship is a medical K-Drama based starring Ha Ji-won and Kang Min-hyuk. This drama series is all about young doctors from different backgrounds and reasons on a Hospital Ship that provides medical service to nearby island residents. The hospital is on a ship that takes interesting and challenging cases and how the story and romance develop between the doctors while their story unfolds is a great show to watch.

It’s a total of 20 episodes with an average of 60 mins per episode. You can watch the Hindi dubbed version on MX Player.

8. Marriage Contract

This K-Drama is a story of a young woman who lost her husband at a young age has a 7-year-old daughter and struggles to make their ends meet. And a wealthy businessman whose mother is ailing and is struggling to keep her content. What happens when they would enter a contract marriage together is a great romantic, emotional roller coaster K-drama to binge.

9. Wok of Love

This Romantic Drama is about Chef Seo Pung a star chef at a 6-star hotel who is suddenly disbarred. From a star chef to the chef of a failing neighbouring Chinese restaurant owned by a gangster. It’s a story of friendship, revenge, love, and everything about tasty food. The stars are hotter than a wonton soup and the story is tastier than Jajangmyeon.

10. Descendants of the Sun:

Descendants of the Sun

This is a romantic K Drama, where romance blossoms between 2 professionals. A Korean soldier and a surgeon. Will they be able to unite, even if their profession keeps pushing them apart? Is a great drama to watch and know.

Descendants of Sun is available with English Subtitles on Netflix and in Hindi on Zee5.
