Oozo Bar and Diner – Sakinaka

Ooze your energy and enthusiasm out after a hectic and stressful day, as it’s totally the need of the hour, given the lifestyle we are heading towards. Ooze out from the boring/hectic shell at Oozo, the new lounge, which has everything under its roof, from casual dining, to bar, to rooftop. It has something for everyone. Oozo is located in Andheri East at just 5 mins walking distance from the Saki Naka Metro station.

The Chef and Consultant K.M. Saif, the mind behind so many of my favorites like Fusion Kitchen, The Little Door, Flip Bar-n-Kitchen, Asanjo- Pune and many more, has made this place flawless in every sense. Don’t believe me, experience it yourself 🙂

The place stands out right from the moment you see the gate, the entry is quite quirky, making you feel like you’re entering a cylinder.

The place has vibrant red hues used across, on stepping a level up, you have two sections; one is the lounge, which has a huge bar, spacious room, with dim light, dance floor, perfect for any party.

On the other end, you have the casual dining, with quirky décor, white and red seating, simply awesome.

On a level up you have rooftop, which is now covered during monsoon, its spacious 3 room, perfect to have your Sheesha or drinks, while enjoying the rains.

Ying Yang Martini

Now starting with the amazing drinks that we tried; Ying Yang Martini: The perfect combination of chocolate and cream, to give you the real Ying Yang flavor, taste and feeling. It is a blend of Chocolate, Whipped Cream, Vanilla Ice Cream, Coconut Milk, topped with chocolate sprinkled and two MnM on either of the sides to make the perfect Ying Yang.

Ethiopian Spiced Tea

Ethiopian Spiced Tea: The only warm mocktail you can ever try, if you love tea you can definitely not forget this. It’s served hot with generous amount of Cinnamon, Cardamom, Clove, Honey, with a hint of Black salt and lemon juice, with each sip you encounter a blast of taste.

Pineapple Mojito

Pineapple Mojito:  It’s a refreshing drink with muddled lime , mint, fresh pineapple, topped with crushed ice and pineapple juice ( with a touch of non-alcoholic  blue) with each sip you get the perfect pineapple taste, as there are pineapple chunks in it, healthy and refreshing.

Krazy Currant

Krazy Currant: Some currents do make your life better; this is one such which has crushed black currant, grape juice, black salt for that perfect sour tinge, white pepper and lemon juice. It’s a treat to the eye and stomach.

Sauteed Shrimp Ceviche

Sauteed Shrimp Ceviche:  Saif has got the famous Latin American Salad to India, where you have the sauteed shrimp, with tomato, jalapeno, and mix of sauces, served in a spice rimmed martini glass with romaine lettuce and tortillas. The first salad I ever tasted in a Martini glass and it was great. Highly recommended.

Flaming Lamborghini: Watch the video to know everything about this totally killer cocktail. It has Kahlua, Sambuca, Blue Curacao, Baileys, great cocktail to try when in group.

I know this is going to be quite long, then my normal posts, hope you’ll read through the end 😉

Mini bun-less Chicken Cheese Burger

Now coming to the appetizers; we had Mini bun-less Chicken Cheese Burger: This is my personal favorite, the base is of mini grilled Chicken patties which has finely chopped onion, garlic, green onion, coriander, Indian spice, parsley, then covered with iceberg lettuce then topped with a cheese slice & cherry tomato as the final topping. This is served with thousand island sauce. This is a healthy take to the mini sliders, without the presence of any type of bread. Different but tasty, must have for sure.

Royal Saffron Nachos (Veg)

Royal Saffron Nachos (Veg): These Saffron infused nacho chips are topped with Saffron Cheese Sauce and garnished with black olives, a perfect starter which is served with tomato salsa. The taste is different which you only experience at any of Saif’s restaurants.

Papas Ala Saif

Papas Ala Saif: This is the trademark dish prepared and named after Saif, the perfectly fried potato discs form the base and is covered with spicy yellow pepper cheese sauce topped with half boiled egg on which black olive is garnished. There is also the vegetarian version of it which is served without eggs. Try this Saif specialty for its uniqueness and taste.

Korean Cheese Nachos (Veg)

Korean Cheese Nachos (Veg): The Spinach flavored nachos chips form the base of this beautiful looking dish, topped with Guchujang (Korean hot pepper paste) spiced cheese sauce, chopped bell peppers, black olives, mozzarella, cheddar & Parmesan cheese, served with tomato salsa. It’s a heaven for vegetarians.

Bang Bang Chicken

Bang Bang Chicken: The mini boneless chicken chunks are fried and socked in the batter of flour, corn flour, buttermilk, sriracha, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and is garnished with a spicy Sriracha mayo swirl and served with the Sriracha Mayo on the side. The chicken is different, unlike the regular ones. Try for its taste.

Spicy New Orleans Prawns

Spicy New Orleans Prawns: Perfectly cooked prawns are tossed in olive oil along with onion, garlic, bell peppers, with spicy Sriracha sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika. The prawns are light, juicy with a mix of flavors and taste.

Vegetarian Bulgogi

Now coming to the mains:  Vegetarian Bulgogi: It’s the famous Korean dish, why Bulgogi? Because bull means fire n Gogi means grilled meat, since it’s vegetarian instead of meat we have cottage cheese cubes and mushroom, cooked with garlic, onion with a touch of gichujang ( Korean hot pepper paste) served with coriander rice, quite filling with blend of Korean taste.

Chocó chip Cookie Shake

For desserts, we had the Chocó chip Cookie Shake: The shakes has the glass filled with milk and whipped cream topped with vanilla ice cream, chocochip chips and a Vanilla ice cream sandwich. A perfect cookie based shake to end your meal.

Nutella Pretzel Shake

Nutella Pretzel Shake: This was my favorite, milk, chocolate ganache, nutella, vanilla ice cream, all together giving you the best shake, the glass is then topped with vanilla ice cream, garnished with pretzel sticks. These shakes are not very heavy or sweet, so perfect for me, who doesn’t like heavy sweets.

Lastly, we did try a number of during our visit, from Pan Salsa Rasna, to Orange, all the sheesha were smooth, giving a good flow and there was someone to check on the Koyla at proper intervals, which makes the overall experience smooth and lovely.

All in all, a great place to have that perfect party, hangout or just to chill, as it has everything we need. We were a group of 10 people hence you can understand how and where these much food went 😉
