Monsoons are always special, and special weather does call for special treatment. On a rainy day, all we need piping hot Pakoda, Garam chai and cosy place on the inside. Chayos has multiple outlets, so seeing the Chaayos near me. Made me travel to the Lower Parel outlet. It’s located in Todi mills just about 900 meters away from the Lower Parel station and easily accessible.

The place has great vibe, spacious two level seating, quirky paintings, and metallic décor; having cycles, upside down umbrella’s etc.

We started with Shahi Chai:

Smooth textured chai having Rabdi, Saffron and garnished with almonds. The chai is different yet delicious having a distinct Elaichi flavour. Try in this weather for sure.

Pahadi Chai:

Also known as Himalayan tea, it has a great amount of garam masala and served piping hot. The tea is best suitable for a cold climate and best to have in case of cold or cough.

Chocolate Shake:

Milk based shake having distinct chocolate taste,its not very thick and heavy.

Paneer Loaded Open Paratha:

Contrary to the traditional paratha, this one is served on a thin layer cook with fine flour only. Which is crunchy and top with finely cook Paneer in Indian spices. The Paratha is slice just like the pizza; making it easy to eat. Highly recommended.

Kulhad Masala Chicken Kulcha:

The Kulcha is like a pizza base, thick, fluffy and very soft, top with finely chopped red chilli. Serve with two Kulhad fill with hot masala chicken. The chicken is tender, chop into small pieces and cook in spices which are not very spicy and not sweet at all. This is my personal favourite of the lot and must-try for sure.

Bun Samosa:

The twist to the famous Samosa Pav, instead of a pav. Its serve with a bun, having green chutney paste on the lower base and tamarind base to the upper bun with a Samosa stuff in between.

Spinach Corn Cheese:

Fresh spinach is filled with crunchy corn and melts in the mouth cheese. Each bite gives you the perfect cheesy taste, try it to know it.

Chocolate Factory Cake:

The dark chocolate is serve warm, the cake is airy and fluffy, a perfect dessert to end your meal.

The very energetic and humble staff at Chaayos, lower Parel, always greeting everyone with a smile.

Overall, there is always a Chaayos near me and you. Just visit with friends or colleagues and one such where you can spend hours together. It’s a self service place, from orders to getting water, it’s all about self service; after all, getting up again and again is actually good for health 😉
