Father’s Day and ICC finals called for visiting an equally special place so we decided to head to Off the Grid, a new bar & grill at Andheri, Lokhandwala, Just about 1.7 km away from the DN Nagar Metro station. Dine while watching live cricket in Andheri

Off the Grid has something for everyone. As you enter there is an open lawn seating, which makes you feel like being in a garden and enjoying your meal. As you go ahead there you see more on the Portugal twisted décor and 2 live screen TV’s to watch live cricket.

Each section of the place transports you to a different zone. Now coming to the indoor seating, it again divides into two parts; The lounge where you have live music, a place to dance and de-stress your body, a live cricket to screen on TV to watch special matches. The other Indoor section is more for fine dining, the section you would like to occupy when with family.

The atmosphere is more rustic, with dominant hues of professional colours like grey and brown. It has fine cuts of wall art on one hand and the rustic rope hanging on the other hand. There are butterflies and flowers inspired designs and cut too. Look at each corner, and find something different.

Now coming down to the drinks; we started with Rang Barse:

Their drinks are thoughtfully curated keeping in mind the kind of cuisine it offers, Rang Barse is a perfect blend of Passion fruit, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Pomegranate. The drink is a little heavy with combined fruit syrup yet invigorating.

Next on the table was OTG Cool Icy:

The watermelon heavy base drink has lime and lime sparkle, the perfect refreshing drink to start your meal.

Khichiya Nachos (Veg):

Coming down to appetizers; we started with their accidental innovation Nachos. The traditional Tortilla chip is replaced with pieces of Khichiya, the Gujarati twist gives the Nachos a very homely and Indian feel and is one of their hero dishes. Try it to know it.

Lucknawi Tunda Kebab:

Authentic Lucknow dish, having mince and juicy lamb marinate in traditional Indian spices and cook in ghee. Though, you can’t make out the ghee part unless told specifically, the patties melt in your mouth, and is luscious. The authentic base paratha is the only thing skip with purpose.

Vertical Sizzler:

Call it a main course or an appetizer, inspired from Northern frontier. It has Malai chicken, marinated with natural herbs and infused with Kalimeri (Black Pepper). Roasted Skinned Potatoes tossed in sauces in a total Chinese style, you have mélange of vegetables tossed in sauces, more to munch on.

Lamb in oyster Sauce:

The oriental dish gives an emphasis on one’s health. It’s not heavy, but healthy. The lamb is toss in oyster sauce, serve with steam rice and Kim chi Salad. The Korean salad is mix with Pepper sauce to add the bit of spiciness and have fried noodles to give the crunchy feel. A complete Thali inspired dish to give you a bit of all.

Now coming down to the desserts, we tried, Kentuchy Derby Pie:

It’s the frozen brownie wrapped in a pie, with each bite you get the enhanced flavours of Choco walnut. Great to try, it was just a little more frozen (tough) for me to eat.

Key Lime Pie:

The base is Egg custard, with enhanced lime flavor, served with dark chocolate on either of the ends. It’s sweet, sour and chocolaty with an amazing blend of so many versatile flavors. Definitely try if you like bitterness in your desserts.

Fruit Truffle

Fruit Truffle:

The base is of seasonal fruits, with whipped cream garnished with chocolate. This should definitely be the must-have list to know the blend of taste one experiences.

Crystal Semi Fredo:

The brownie base, with cookie crunchy ice cream topped with frozen caramel. This is something we highly recommend.

The culinary skills of Chef Juliano can quite visiblein this versatile fusion menu. His experience spreading across Taj group of hotels, Rodas and Out of the blue (Bandra) to name a few can be seen in the kind of dishes he has bought at Off the Grid. Don’t just listen experience it yourself and then decide.
